Our services are customizable, based on each client’s needs and goals.

The goal of our consulting and coaching services is not to do the work for you, but to help you learn by walking you through the process of researching, writing, publishing or marketing your books.

You can get as much or as little coaching/help as you like, with no pressure for additional sessions.

We want to be your ally and provide you with helpful guidance at any point during your writing and publishing journey!

How it Works

  • Send enquiry by e-mail to:    consulting (at) eaglesanddragonspublishing (dot) com 

        or via the Contact Page of the website

  • Our Consultant, Adam Alexander Haviaras, will respond within one business day to set up time for a FREE 15-minute meet-and-greet (video conference or telephone)

  • During the 15-minute meet-and-greet you tell us about you, your writing project, and goals, and about what you feel you need (see ‘Services’ listed above)

  • If both parties agree to proceed, a date for the first session is set, and Eagles and Dragons Publishing will send a contract to the author to review and sign. This contract is an industry standard contract that protects both parties. Author returns the signed contract to Eagles and Dragons Publishing.

  • Full payment is required by Consultant prior to each session or block of sessions.

  • Once payment is received, work begins on the date specified in the contract

  • Author decides how many sessions she/he wants, on an ad hoc basis

  • If work beyond the ‘live’ or ‘in-person’ sessions is required, the number of hours is agreed upon first

  • Eagles and Dragons Publishing will send an invoice to the author for any extra work requested prior to releasing documentation/findings. This must be paid upon receipt.

  • Once the final invoice is paid, Eagles and Dragons Publishing will send the documentation/findings back to the author.

$125.00 CAD per hour for consulting or coaching services

$100.00 CAD per hour with the purchase of a 4-session bundle (total of $400.00 CAD)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you only work with historical fiction/fantasy authors and publishers?

A. We can work with authors in any genre. While some of the research methodologies and launch strategies we use are geared toward historical novelists, the writing, publishing and marketing advice we offer can be applied to any genre.

 

Q. Why do I need a consultant or coach when I can look up all of this information myself?

A. That is a good question, and we certainly encourage everyone to do a bit of research on their own. However, there are so many options for publishing and book marketing out there that it can be extremely confusing. Hiring a consultant or coach can help save you a lot of time and frustration during the writing and publishing process by helping you navigate all of your publishing options and giving you proven tips, tricks and strategies. Everyone needs an ally at some point along their journey!

 

Q. Do you guarantee success?

A. Although we would love to ‘guarantee’ writing and publishing success, we cannot for the reason that every author, every book, and every story is different and will appeal (or not) to different readers. Publishing is an ever-changing landscape. However, what we can guarantee is that if you are willing to put in the work and experiment with the strategies we give you, your chances of success are much greater. Our goal is to give you the best possible help!

 

Q. Why do I need to sign a contract?

A. Contracts between consultants and clients are standard practice. They are intended to protect both parties by clearly outlining expectations and services to be delivered. Our contract also ensures client privacy and intellectual copyright. 

 

Q. Why do I need to pay prior to a consulting or coaching session?

A. Pre-billing is a standard practice in consulting and coaching. The full amount is due prior to a session because work is done on a session-by-session basis. Clients may need only one session to get the help they need, or they may need several sessions.

 

Q. The hourly rate for consulting/coaching services seems high. Why?

A. Our rates are actually extremely competitive. Many publishing consultants today will charge over two to three hundred dollars per hour. Our fees may go up a little over time, but for now they remain low.

 

Q. How long will it take to get results?

A. This is highly variable because every author’s needs and books will be different. It depends on where you are on your publishing journey. You could see results within a couple of days, a couple of months, or a couple of years. Every plan we develop with our clients will be customized with a goal to achieve success sooner rather than later.

 

Q. Why do I need consulting or coaching services when you have a book that covers researching, writing, publishing and marketing already?

A. The Writing the Past book, is an excellent place to start, and it outlines our own writing and publishing philosophies and methods well. However, our consulting and coaching services take a much deeper dive into all of the topics covered in the book, and more. We will hold your hand through the process of researching, writing, publishing and marketing your book, if that is what you want and need.

 

Q. What qualifies you to offer these consulting and coaching services?

A. Adam Alexander Haviaras (founder of Eagles and Dragons Publishing) has been studying history and writing historical fiction/fantasy for over 30 years. Over the past ten years, he has become a successful author and blogger with a proven author platform. He has written and published over 20 books with over five #1 bestsellers in both fiction and non-fiction.
