Greetings Readers and History-Lovers!
Today, on the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, Eagles and Dragons Publishing is thrilled to announce the launch of the newest title in our marquee, award-winning and bestselling historical fantasy series!
The Lord of Annwn: A Novel of the Otherworld is a new, and very different addition to the Eagles and Dragons series. It is a liminal book in the series, a turning point. While this story takes place before and during the events in The Hearts of Heroes (Book VII), the events in this story are happening in another time and place.
And that makes for a truly epic adventure!
And so, without further ado, we present to you The Lord of Annwn…
The Lord of Annwn: A Novel of the Otherworld
At the peak of Rome’s might a dragon is born among eagles, an heir to a line both blessed and cursed by the Gods for ages.
On the mortal planes of the world, in the Roman province of Britannia, family, friends, and enemies alike have been wondering one thing…
What happened to Lucius Pen Dragon?
For ten long years in the world of men, Lucius has been missing. Some presume him to be dead, while others believe he has abandoned them altogether, leaving them to fend for themselves in a world filled with hatred, torment, and violence.
However, what happens to the gods outside of time, in other realms, is beyond mortal understanding.
When Lucius Pen Dragon, newly emerged from his apotheosis, finds himself caught between worlds, he decides to leave Ynis Wytrin and the world he knows to step into another one…into Annwn.
Little does Lucius know, Annwn is no longer the magical green world of plenty he once visited. It has become a place of desolation and despair under his former enemy, Gwyn ap Nudd, the dreaded Lord of Annwn.
From the moment Lucius sets foot in Annwn, he is trapped by forgetting, beset by the pain of the past, present, and future, and thrust into trials that force him to question everything he has learned. At the same time, he is tormented by the knowledge that death is coming for the family he left behind. Unable to return to the mortal world to save those whom he loves, Lucius realizes that he should never have left.
With the aid of a mysterious bard, a powerful seer, and other unexpected allies, Lucius is forced to discover the nature of his own truth and divinity, and the universal laws that govern the gods.
Will Lucius decipher his true purpose? Will he survive his trials and finally defeat the powerful Lord of Annwn? Or will he succumb to anger, despair, and the desolation of the Otherworld?
If he does not finally understand and use his godly might, those whom he loves, and the people of Annwn, will perish, and his own divine light will be extinguished for all time…
